When is the Best Time of Year to Golf in Key West?

We thought we’d kick things off with this question before we dive into all the courses at your disposal here. You may be wondering: Can you golf year-round in Key West? Yes, you can! Key West has a mild, tropical climate year-round, so you can head out on a golfing expedition any month.

It is important to note that while you technically can golf any time of year, the summer months can get quite hot and humid. The best time of year to golf in Key West is from November to April. Temperatures are mild, there’s a nice ocean breeze, and you don’t have to worry about humidity levels climbing too high. Most courses are in peak condition in February and March, so those are great months to plan a golfing trip.

Key West Golf Club

The Florida Keys Country Club course is best defined as challenging yet forgiving. It’s a good stop for golfers of all levels! The diversity of the holes makes it so you’ll use every club in your bag, so that’s exciting.

Ocean Reef Club

Don’t get overly excited just yet—Ocean Reef is a private golf club, meaning it’s only open to members. If you have a friend who’s a member, you can join as a guest, though!

The Ocean Reef Club has two distinctly different golf courses located in Key Largo. Both are fun to play; the Hammock is considered the more scenic of the two courses, and a great test of target golf. The Dolphin allows for some margin of error off the tee, but the challenge comes when you get to the greens, and the water hazards will put your skill to the test!
